Lamprini Boviatsou works with oil on canvas researching the way reflections from upon the glass which she then depicts. Reflection on the mirror which for Plato was the model which painting follows, distorts reality and offers to the painter a fractured idol of herself. The relationship between the reality that the painter experiences and the fractured image of the self, often imposed by others, is the center of Boviatsou’s preoccupations.
